DC Solar Electric, Inc. a Division of the Stevens Family Companies has an opportunity for a Solar Installer. This position will offer you an exciting opportunity to help provide a clean, safe, and reliable source of electric power to light, cool/heat homes and schools, run factories, and provide goods and services that we all depend upon. The Solar Installer installs all photovoltaic system components and electrical equipment, ensures successful operation of a complete photovoltaic system and communicates routinely with Project Manager and Construction Manager.
Qualifications:
MUST HAVE: California Electrician Trainee Certification from accredited school, or be willing/committed to attend an apprenticeship program to obtain CET certification.
Minimum of 1 year experience installing solar in addition to electrical and roofing experience.
Familiar with OHSA safety requirements and regulations.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Safety conscious when working on a roof, ladder heights or in a confined area.
Can troubleshoot issues efficiently and effectively.
A strong work ethic, excellent communication and documentation skills.

Skilled in the use of power and hand tools and can provide training to others in its operation.
Responsibilities (included but not limited to):
Installation of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems on roof tops, ground, and mounted carports according to design.
Penetrating, attaching, sealing into a variety of buildings and variety of roofing materials.
Installing module racking, wire runs, conduits, inverters, disconnects, Battery Electrical Storage Systems and other equipment.
Collect data and photos during and at the end of each project.
Comply with required training and fulfillment of assigned duties.
Maintain a clean DMV record.
Complete projects within established policies, procedures, strict timeframes and allowed budget.
Maintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on crew safety.
Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and operational issues.
Communicate with customers in a professional, considerate, and respectful manner, answering all questions.
Physical Demands:
Able to sit, stand, walk, bend (neck), squat, climb, kneel, crawl, twist (neck and waist).
Repetitive use of hands in simple grasping, power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling, reaching above shoulder and below shoulder level.
Lift equipment and materials up to 50 lbs. occasionally throughout the day.
Work around heavy equipment safely.
Operate vehicles and machinery.
Walk on uneven ground.
Handle exposure to excessive noise, extreme temperature, humidity or wetness.
Working at heights, including on roof and rack.
Pre-employment conditions:
Potential employees must complete a third-party “fit for duty “evaluation.
Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
This is a full-time position.
