Placer County's Department of Public Works currently has two vacancies for Utility Service Worker. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing wastewater collection and water distribution systems. The ideal candidate will have previous experience performing maintenance on a variety of water and wastewater equipment and will be able to work both in a team environment and independently in the field.
This classification is scheduled to receive a general wage increase of 4.0% in July 2024.
Minimum qualifications to be considered for this position include two years of responsible experience performing duties similar to those of a Maintenance Worker assigned to various program areas in Utility Services, and equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Possession of a valid Class A or B driver's license may be required depending upon the position. Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required. Possession of certificate of training in use of self-contained breathing apparatus, to be obtained within three months of employment. Possession of Certificate in Wastewater Collection System Maintenance, Grade II, as issued by the California Water Environment Association is desirable.
