Description Robert Half has an opening for a District Operations Controller for a client in the Service industry who is seeking an ambitious candidate to join their reputable company. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and operations employees. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. This full-time position is for a Controller who will work in the Hayward, California region.Key responsibilities
Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
Capable of handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent detail oriented experience
A minimum of 5 years’ experience with revenue control, financial reporting and cash handling responsibilities, at least 3 years in a similar capacity.
Inventory management experience is a must.
Accounting experience in foodservice or retail industry required, foodservice operations experience a plus.
Manufacturing background at a minimum.
Experience with SAP or similar and advanced Excel skills with large data sets.
Experience with sales analysis and reporting.
Adept at planning, organizing and controlling complex processes as well as analyzing moderately complex financial information.
Skilled at managing multiple priorities and relationships.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
