POSITION SUMMARY

This full-time Accountant position is scheduled to start Monday, December 2, 2024 and is responsible for organizing and managing client assignments, tax returns, financials, and projects, including the completion of assignment tasks and project components in a timely and on budget manner, as well as coaching and advising team members in meeting firm, client, and self-development expectations. This Accountant level is the level at which day-to-day productivity in terms of product output is the highest. The ideal candidate is capable of making decisions on most bookkeeping, tax, and A&A matters. We prefer this to be an in-office position but will consider a fully remote or hybrid arrangement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

BA/BS in Accounting or Business

Public accounting and tax preparation experience

Strong computer and IT background desirable

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Aptitude for critical thinking, problem solving, and research

Creative problem-solving ability and analytical skills with particular attention to detail

Ethically motivated to maintain security and confidentiality of sensitive information.

Self-motivated and determined to achieve personal and company goals

Strong interpersonal communication, client service, and team building skills

Ability to lead and work well with a team to meet critical deadlines

CPA or EA preferred, but open to helping the right candidate prepare and complete their professional certification goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Applies technical knowledge and research skills to formulate client-related recommendations.

Develops an understanding of client businesses and uses this knowledge to help diagnose needs/opportunities and suggest solutions.

Learns and refines project management skills – to plan, manage and deliver quality service on time and within budget.

Proficient in the preparation, delegation, and review of corporate, individual, partnership, fiduciary, and other tax returns prepared by the firm. This includes an understanding of relevant regulations, best practices, and documenting the basis of a position.

Experience with the preparation, compilation, and review of financial statements and the application of relevant guidance and ethical requirements

Proficient in accounting practice, including payroll, basic bookkeeping, month-end/year end closing, and reconciliation.

Understanding of the application of strategic management principles to help clients solve complex business issues.

Understands the rules, requirements, code of conduct, and standards of the AICPA and the authoritative literature established by the FASB, GASB, IRS, FTB, and PCAOB.

Understanding of research techniques and the use of technology to access relevant libraries and sources of authoritative guidance.

Develops effective working relationships between the client and the firm.

Takes responsibility for quality client service.

Organizes and controls multiple responsibilities and resources to achieve firm objectives through the effective use of project management techniques to contribute to the success of several projects simultaneously.

Identifies opportunities to improve project efficiency.

Understands key aspects of risk management within individual projects and as a whole.
