Museum Worker position needed for Scotia CSD to open and oversee Museum. Days and times TBD, preferably Fri-Sun.
Greet visitors and answer questions to best of ability.
Once Theater is open, attend and oversee CSD sponsored events

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent
Possession of a current valid California driver’s license, with a satisfactory driving record
PREFERRED SKILLS
Friendly and willing to learn the unique history of Scotia to better inform visitors to the museum
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Looking for a trustworthy, independent, self-starter who will be working in Scotia, CA. District is willing to train candidate on District-specific duties. Must be willing to follow the District’s Drug and Alcohol Policy. This is a non-benefit position.
Museum/Theater Representative
Description Summary:
DEFINITION
Under the direction of the General Manager, the representative will be responsible for opening and closing the Museum on the agreed days of hire. The District prefers at least one of the days of this part-time position, including Saturdays with the inclusion of either Fridays or Sundays as well. All three days may also be considered. The Museum will open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and possibly longer depending on attendance. In addition, the Representative will interact with visitors as necessary, ie answering questions about exhibits, the Town of Scotia, etc to the best of their ability. The Scotia Theater is currently being renovated. Once completed, the Representative will also represent the District when events sponsored by the District are taking place. This may include but not be limited to concerts, movies, etc. Training for each position will be given at the time of hire.
SUPERVISION
The Museum Representative receives direction and is supervised by the General Manager for all assigned work.
Example of Job Duties:
Open and close Museum on designated days, hours of operation TBD
Interact with public in polite and professional manner
Assist current curator with assembling and/or moving and updating displays
Learn about the history of Scotia as much as possible to better help visitors
Help organize events at the Theater (once renovations are complete)
Attend after hours CSD events when required (mostly but not limited to Theater events)
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous experience working with the public desirable
Possess current ID or driver’s license
Pass drug screening and physical
Possession of a current valid California driver’s license, with a satisfactory driving record
Related job experience preferred
On-the-job training offered
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
Must possess mobility to work in outdoor conditions; stamina, strength, and mobility to perform light to heavy physical work in and around various District facilities and structures, climb and descend ladders, operate various hand and power tools, hear and communicate in person or on the telephone. Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials. Ability to bend, climb, crawl, kneel, turn, reach, stoop, and carry, pull/push materials or objects to perform assigned duties at various District facilities and structures. Requires climbing and balancing. Must work indoors and outdoors year-round. Must work in noisy and crowded environments. Must work in and around dust, fumes, and odors. Must be able to work in high places.
