Do you love working with kids, being outdoors, and making a real impact? We have the job for you! The City of Arcata has begun the hiring process for the upcoming summer camp season. We are offering nine weeks of summer camps from June 16th through August 18th for local youth between the ages of 4 and 14. We currently have positions open for Summer Camp Liaison, Skate Camp Director, Adventure Camp Director, and Art Camp Director positions.
Summer Camp Director: $17.871 - $19.726 per hour
Directors are responsible for planning, creating, and implementing camp curriculum and leading activities for their respective camps. Some hours will be necessary in the spring for planning and preparation. See below for a rundown of each camp’s focus.
Skate Camp Directors will lead fun games and activities that will develop young skater’s skills on and off the board at the Arcata Skate Park.
Adventure Camp Directors will lead outdoor education activities for a variety of weekly themes throughout the Arcata Community Forest.
Art Camp Directors will channel their camper’s creativity through various art mediums at the Arcata Community Center.
Summer Camp Liaison: $18.758 - $20.735 per hour
The liaison is a unique administrative position supports all camps and the office. It is more involved that other positions in that they will collaborate with full time office staff on planning while also subbing in and running errands for camp staff. This position is perfect for someone who is looking to work many hours and garner great job experience for their resume.
