Pay: Starts at $17.00 per hour

No experience necessary. We train staff to tend to the needs of the individual. This is a great position for someone who has an interest in healthcare, behavioral studies, psychology, education, and social work prior to or during studies.
Radiant Living is a Supported Living Service Agency employing teams of Direct Support Professionals to work 1:1 with people. The people we support have a wide variety of challenges which can include: Cognitive, Developmental, Behavioral, Physical Disabilities and also disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and Autism. We also support people who have Mental Health and Behavioral Challenges as well as those who are Aging or have higher medical needs.
Team members work one on one with individuals, providing support needed for the person to be able to live in their own homes, access and participate in community and live a life of their own choosing. For 24 hour care clients, shifts are typically are from 8am-3pm, 3pm-10pm, or 10pm-8am. More independent people have shifts set in accordance with the needs of each client and can be from a few hours to a full day.
Depending on the person's interests, DSPs provide support in a variety of areas. Examples: wheelchair ride in the neighborhood or along a nature trail, day hike to Headwaters, getting immersed in a collaborative art project, coloring to relaxing music, using Zoom to talk to family and friends, tending the garden, a picnic in the sun, singing to a new song, chair stretches, watching a great movie, feeding the birds, or a great conversation.
Depending on the person's needs, DSPs also implement Individual Support Plans to help the person reach personal goals and daily life skills. Examples: Learning to meditate, running in a marathon, increasing the distance of independent wheeling, making and mailing birthday cards to their friends and family throughout the year, creating a piece of art in time for a show. Learning how to do laundry without turning the socks pink, how to fold washcloths nice and neat, how to sweep the floor effectively, or how to access CalFresh, and how to shop and cook healthy foods on a budget.
DSPs also provide support with medical and other appointments, medication administration, personal care, and behavioral support, household chores such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, assistance with shopping and other errands, plus all the little details and big things of daily life.
DSPs provide documentation and data collection for each shift. Most of the documentation is performed online. Communication and record keeping is a priority.
Must be local. We do not do phone interviews and we need staff to begin training sooner than relocation would allow.
Must have a vehicle that is insured and in good working condition that you can use for work.
Must have good written and oral communication skills and ability to use an online documentation and communication system.
Must have initiative to get the job done. Staff are working in a one on one environment.
Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance and have a clean driving record.
