Job summary
Our new childcare facility in Crescent City is looking for a Full time Preschool Teacher who can help to create a fun environment and incorporate educational programs that assist our children with developmental disabilities. The Preschool Teacher will be responsible for monitoring and teaching the 18 months- 3 year-old children in our program, developing a curriculum that the children will respond to positively and partnering with our team to enhance the learning environment at our school. The lead teacher will have a 50/50 combination of children with special needs and typically developing children in their class. Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a constructive and ongoing rapport with children and parents
Create activities that are fun and educational for the children
Develop strategies to guide positive children's behavior
Build good, open communication with children, families and staff
Observe and record children's growth, development and behavior using electronic portfolios
Ensure the learning environment is clean, hygienic and safe
Collaborate with other teachers and therapists to ensure that the school fosters an environment that is inviting and nurturing for every child
Deliver reports on potential concerns about students as to management as needed
Manage day-to-day classroom activities, including structured lessons, free play, bathroom breaks, lunch time and rest time for student
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelors Degree in Special Education or 24 unites in Child Development from an accredited school and experience with children with disabilities.
EEC Certified
1+ years experience working with children in a classroom setting
Experience working with special needs children
Bilingual (a huge plus)
Caring and nurturing attitude towards children
Fantastic organizational and teamwork skills
Current First Aid certificate with anaphylaxis and asthma training
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
