Located in the heart of the Redwoods of Northern California, the Benbow Valley is nestled among the hills with the Eel River running through. The most prominent features of this little valley are the Benbow Historic Inn and the Benbow KOA Resort & Golf Course .

The Inn is a 65 room historic building with a restaurant and lounge. The Benbow KOA Resort & Golf Course is a 110 site RV park with a 9-hole golf course.

The Benbow Historic Inn is seeking an outstanding Bellman candidate to represent the hotel to the guest throughout all stages of the guest's stay.

OVERVIEW: The bell person is primarily responsible for welcoming all guests to the hotel as well as bidding them farewell. The bell person is escorting guests to and from their accommodations, orienting them with the features of the property and their accommodations, assisting the guest in any way to make them feel more comfortable. The essential job functions are listed below, but may include duties which are outside of these job functions which are required to meet the need of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Greet all guests in the lobby in a warm and professional manner, make them feel welcome and anticipate

their needs before they arise.

Recognize all returning and VIP guests, and welcome them back. Escort all guests checking in to their

accommodations following hotel procedure. Inform them about all hotel and guest room features, hotel

facilities and emergency procedures. Assist guests with their luggage and acknowledge them by name.

Make deliveries to guest rooms as instructed.

Store and retrieve luggage and other objects for guests.

Be aware of hotel activities, group and VIP arrivals. Communicate special guest requests to the Guest Service

Supervisor/Manager on Duty.

Ensure the lobby, bell closet and work areas as well as departmental equipment are clean and presentable at

all times. Communicate needs to the Guest Service Supervisor/Manager on Duty.

Offer assistance to all guests and provide them with information requested and directions, escorting the guest

whenever possible.

perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume and distance.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:

Less than high school education; and up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent

combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Valid State Drivers License

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Basic typing skills and ability to operate a computer and printer for word processing.

This position works in an environment with moderate noise level. (Examples: business office with computers

and printers, light traffic.)
