We're interviewing Dishwasher candidates for The Boardroom Ferndale. We currently have two shifts available, Thursday night 5:00-9'ish and Sunday 1:00-4:30. We'll likely add hours as Ferndale traffic picks-up in the holiday season, and there's always opportunities to get extra shifts at private events that popup during the year as well.
If interested, please send:
a) a few lines about your experience (if you have any) and why you would be a fit, and
b) days and times you know you can't work due to school, upcoming vacations, etc.
Working at The Boardroom:
The Boardroom specializes in fast casual, comfort food with a serious jones for cured, smoked, and pickled ingredients. We have live music every Thursday, lunch on the weekends, and host many private events which makes for an interesting mix of wedding receptions and other large parties. Tips are shared equally across all positions during shifts, and we're proud of our no drama, friendly atmosphere.
The Job:
Dishwasher responsibilities go beyond the "dish pit" and also include clearing tables, mopping the floor, and taking out the trash/recycling. You don't necessarily need to have dishwashing experience, but you will need to be someone who shows up on time and will learn quickly. We have an open kitchen with a lot of traffic in and around the dish pit, so there are no earpods or headphones. You won't need them because there will be an entire band 4 feet from your face every Thursday. Still reading? Good. We should also mention that there are no machines. You'll wash every plate, fork, and pan by hand, so be prepared to put some work in.
Certifications:
You'll need your CA food safety certificate within two weeks of starting, but it would be a bonus if you already had it covered.
Note:
We do our best to keep the work environment psycho-free, so we do reference and background checks. ;)
