2 nights a week regular shifts plus event fill-in, in an LGBT+ friendly space. Looking for someone to start training for this position right away, which would involve working barback shifts first to get used to the space, POS system, and knowing where to quickly and efficiently find everything in the bar, walk-in, storage room, venue, etc. If you are an experienced, reliable Cocktail Bartender who can accurately follow specials recipes, handle high volume at a fast pace and multi-task (pouring more than one drink at once, keeping the bar and tables tidy, keeping up on dishes, knowing standard cocktails and able to quickly learn a few specialties, being kind and attentive to customers at all times, being comfortable with cutting people off discreetly or asking people to leave) please email us your resume, cover letter, AND availability through the email link in this craigslist ad.
After training, this may include shifts where you would need to be comfortable occasionally working alone through rushes at random, unexpected times, and also be comfortable efficiently working with a senior bartender for busy event nights and making sure dishes get done and things are stocked when there's no barback. Must be able to lift/move beer kegs, be on your feet for long periods, have knowledge of how to tap kegs, check CO2 levels and switch out beer/soda tanks, be able to sweep, mop, and follow written instructions on opening and closing checklists each shift. Be able to follow written recipes for preparing simple mixers, as well as follow our cocktail recipes consistently.
Must be professional, refrain from flirting with customers, or otherwise making them uncomfortable.
We do not tolerate drinking or smoking weed etc on shift, or showing up to work intoxicated.
Must have reliable transportation or be within walking/biking distance due to late hours.
Must be over 21 to serve liquor in California.
$16 per hour + tips while demonstrating an ability to efficiently complete all job duties. Raises are based on reliability and performance.
