Ability Facilitator

32 hours a week, all shifts.

$25-35/hour DOE. McKinleyville near Cal Poly.

We are adding new members to our team! Looking for nursing, education, recreation, speech therapy students and other interested folks. Varied shifts available, schedule negotiable. Permanent, full-time positions may be available.

Says the person hiring, "Some people just see my disability, but I want them to see I am sassy, funny, patient, and fun-loving adult. I like movies, eating out, the zoo and making friends. I want to learn to get around Humboldt, find fun recreational activities, and meet people. That's Job One. And now The (disability) Talk. True things: I use a wheelchair, a walker, and an incredibly cool eye-gaze speech device. I have a g-tube for meds and water. I’ve lived with this since I was two and for me, it's just background noise, no big deal. I need help with the usual things (going to appointments, personal hygiene, and meds). I and my team will train on those. If you are interested in learning more, reply to this post. My team and my mom will help us talk by communication relay. Thanks!"

From our teamOur team focuses on caring for ourselves and each other so that we can do Job One. We prioritize care for the person served, care for one another, equity, and work life balance.
