Clinical Support Manager

We are a small community health center in Northern California and we are looking for a Clinical Support Manager to work with approximately 4 Providers and manage approximately 8 Clinical staff members.

General Definition and Scope of Job: The clinical support manager reports to the Medical Director in order to direct the management of clinical operations. The clinical support manager is also accountable for the effective management and delivery of quality patient care in the clinics. The clinical support manager works in collaboration with the physicians, medical assistants, nurses, and clerical staff to plan direct and evaluate the care provided to patients.

Responsibilities and Performance Standards:

1. Directs the duties of the clinical staff to ensure that effective clinical services are provided and quality standards are met.

2. Provides leadership, direction, guidance to all clinical staff. Directs the implementation and compliance with all policies and procedures of clinical operations.

3. Participates in performance improvement projects. Ensures that all logs and clinical monitoring are in compliance, i.e. temp logs, VFC vaccines, lab protocol and processing, infection control and blood bourn pathogen protocol, clinical supplies, control logs, all standard clinical protocol is followed.

4. Effectively addresses personnel issues in order to promote a productive and health work environment, including but not limited to solving problems. Reviews and approves clinical staff requests for vacation and time off requests to ensure patient care is provided and staffing is adequate.

5. Assures the clinical staff has the supplies and equipment necessary to provide quality care.

6. Serves as a role model to all clinical staff demonstrating effective direct patient care, leadership and professional behavior. Provides guidance and direction to all assigned clinical staff.

7. Serves as a liaison with medical staff to identify mutual concerns, solve problems, and review clinic schedules, staffing plans and overall operations of the clinics.

8. Reviews daily that all patient calls and reminders have been addressed and patients have been notified. UDS measures and QIP measures are in compliance. Charting by medical assistants is adequate and meets compliance.

9. Reviews weekly that all referrals have been completed, lab results have been received and up to date, and the next week has been prepared for patient care and provider flow compliance.

10. Enforces and adheres to all STHS Company and department policies and procedures.

11.Demonstrates a passionate customer focus, exceeds customers’ expectations through excellence.

12. Provides or makes provisions for staffing education. Implements motivational qualities for improved team performance.

Job Requirements

Work Experience: Three years’ experience in clinical setting, with excellent leadership and verbal and written communication skills. Three years’ supervisory experience.

Licenses & Certifications: None with adequate verifiable work experience.

Prefer: Certifications in phlebotomy and injections.
