Redwood Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Biller/Collections Assistant. We serve as a resource to our community by providing affordable and top quality patient care. Our office provides a positive and friendly work environment. Part-time position is available (under 30 hours), position may expand to full-time with benefits for the right person.
Under direct supervision of the Billing Manager, this part time position manages outstanding AR and performs collections management and retrieval, adjusting, and processing tasks related to ensuring timely and accurate billing collection and reconciliation of discrepancies in accordance with office policy and procedure. Candidate must be highly organized, patient, and proactive. Must be able to work well independently and with others in our inviting and energetic workplace.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1 year experience in medical billing/medical collections is necessary
Excellent phone etiquette and verbal communication
Experience with claims follow-up and electronic filing
Strong communications, negotiations and "people" skills are required
Experience navigating Electronic Medical Records and billing software
Working knowledge of collection routines
Ability to read and interpret payer contracts and explanation of benefits
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Routinely follows up on claim denials and reviews outstanding AR daily
Communicating with insurance companies by phone, following up on outstanding claims denials and discrepancies
Accounts receivable follow up and reimbursement management.
Clearly and accurately documents collection process on patient accounts and follows up on pending work
Resolves discrepancies and finds solutions
Manage past due accounts and collaborate with collection agency.
Communication with payers, physician offices, insurance representatives
Other duties normally associated with such position.
