The Humboldt Senior Resource Center (HSRC) is seeking a full-time HR Leaves & Safety Specialist who will serve as the subject matter expert for the leave and workers compensation programs in alignment and under the general direction and guidance of HR leadership and the legal counsel. This position plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with applicable laws while supporting employees through their leave journey and promoting workplace safety initiatives. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills; a strong understanding of leave policies and workers compensation laws; and a passion for helping employees navigate complex processes and fostering a safe and supportive work environment.
The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 hours a day (hours are flexible between 7 am and 5:30 pm).
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys research, working with policies, and supporting employees. Responsibilities include submitting and processing leave requests and workers compensation claims, engaging with employees throughout the leaves and claims process, staying up to date on federal and state employment laws (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, PDL, etc.), and maintains all records and files related to leaves and claims. Experience: We are looking for someone with at least 2 years of experience in the human resources field or someone with a bachelor's degree in a related field with 2 years of administrative support experience in an office setting.
