Pay rate: $17-25/hour
Position Description:
Seeking qualified and experienced sawyers. Full-time employment. Pay usually starts at $17/hour, but depending on experience, this could vary.
About the job: Must be capable of working on steep terrain in hot weather and long days (8-12 hours). Duties would mainly be cutting small trees and brushing with chainsaws, and working with or around a wood chipper. Must wear PPE at all times.
Additional requirements:
Driver's license required or Must have reliable transportation.
Having a wildland fire background is a plus!
Reliability and a strong work ethic is essential!
Qualifications:
One year of experience in practical natural resource management (tree felling, brush removal, tree planting).
Knowledge of general resource management principles and conservation techniques.
Tree and shrub identification is a must.
Must have the ability to:
-Understand instructions to carry out assignments as directed by the supervisor.
-Work independently or in a group setting to perform collaborative tasks effectively.
-Communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and the public to share information effectively.
-Adapt to changing work demands, priorities, and environments to meet program needs.
-Organize, prioritize, and complete work assignments promptly and efficiently to meet program objectives.
-Understand and employ excellent safety practices and exercise situation awareness to ensure personal and employee safety.
-Perform work with attention to detail in an accurate and thorough manner to meet our objectives.
-Perform arduous and physically demanding work in all weather conditions and terrains.
-Willingness to work long and irregular hours, to work in remote parts of the state and to be away for weeks at a time.
-Go out of town for a week out of time. Staying in hotels and receiving perdium.
