Ridgefield Weddings and Events is a beautiful wedding and event venue set against redwoods and meadows. We take pride in maintaining a clean, welcoming, and picturesque property for our guests. We are seeking a dedicated Groundskeeper to join our team and help keep our venue looking its best year-round.
Position Summary
The Groundskeeper will be responsible for maintaining the property’s landscaping, outdoor structures, and overall appearance. This role requires hands-on work, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to perform routine maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Landscaping & Grounds Care
Mow lawns, trim edges, and weed whack as needed.
Operate tractor for field mowing and grounds maintenance.
Prune shrubs, trees, and flowers to maintain a neat appearance.
Remove weeds, fallen branches, and debris from grounds.
Facility & Property Maintenance
Perform basic painting and touch-up work on fences, walls, and outdoor structures.
Conduct light repairs (e.g., tightening screws, replacing light bulbs, fixing minor issues).
Assist with upkeep of outdoor furniture, pathways, and signage.
Power wash as needed
Event Readiness
Ensure outdoor spaces are tidy and presentable before and after events.
Assist with set-up and take-down of outdoor equipment as needed.
General Duties
Monitor grounds for safety hazards and report issues.
Operate and maintain landscaping equipment safely and effectively.
Qualifications
Prior experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or property maintenance preferred.
Ability to operate lawnmowers, weed whackers, and other maintenance tools (tractor experience a bonus.)
Basic knowledge of painting, plumbing and general repairs.
Strong work ethic and reliability. Positive attitude and collaborative team member.
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Physical strength and stamina to perform outdoor labor in varying weather conditions.
Schedule & Compensation
Flexible schedule, with additional hours during peak event season.
Compensation based on experience. ($25 - $30/ hour depending on skills, tools, experience.
