Live-in aid position available with free rent after 3 months (See bottom for details)
LGBTQ+ and disabled applicants are welcome.
Want to hang out with a smart, compassionate, and deeply caring autistic adult? Interest in world peace, Buddhism, social justice (topics like homelessness, etc.) or sociology are a plus.
Can you seek out and arrange social activities for 6 hours a day at $28/hour and $0.67 per mile?
Shifts are available 7 days a week, 12 hours a day (that's two 6-hour shifts, day shift and night shift).
Day shift will involve running errands and doing chores, in addition to social activities. Night shift is focused primarily on the social activities and fun!
Nathan is taking advantage of SDP (Self-Determination Program) to hire staff for day and night shifts. Learn more about California SDP here: https://www.dds.ca.gov/initiatives/sdp/
Nathan is looking for people who are able to put themselves out there: people who can talk to strangers, encourage others to sit down and talk to him at local places like coffee shops, clubs, and events, and who can provide structure and plan these activities accordingly.
He needs people who are outgoing, but also responsible, reasonably street smart, and good judges of character.
Being neurodivergent and/or extroverted is also a plus.
Having lots of local friends and contacts you could include and introduce to Nathan is a plus, but not a strict requirement if you can be proactive.
The positions start in October, at which point applicants will start working one shift per week. After one month, staff will be allowed to work up to 40 hours per week, subject to approval, availability and your own interest.
Only conditionally available to one staff if approved by behaviorist.
