The Front Porch is a 16-unit boutique inn featuring a beautiful courtyard with outdoor soaking tubs, living fern walls, custom river rock sauna and outdoor shower. We are currently seeking a property caretaker/maintenance person to join our team! This position requires collaboration with our manager and cleaning team to ensure all elements of this property are kept in excellent working condition and ready for guests to enjoy.
Frequent visits to the property will be necessary so we will prioritize finding someone that lives close to 150 S G St, Arcata CA 95521. Nearby housing is also available.
Seeking candidates with:
Property maintenance/handyperson experience
Working smartphone & good communication skills
Resourceful problem solving abilities
Reliable transportation
Ideally: Basic tools and a truck or work vehicle
Living within 5-10 mins of The Front Porch Inn
Availability to be on site tending to the property and performing maintenance in the units 3-5 times per week. Working hours are flexible but some tasks need to be performed during the day between checkouts/check ins (11-4PM)
Evening availability for occasional urgent guest needs (typically quick pop-over type of situations)
Duties Include:
Landscaping & groundskeeping
General maintenance of property infrastructure including: ponds, waterfalls, living walls, walkways, tub rooms, lighting, and technologies such as surveillance, parking gate, door locks etc.
Room maintenance including basic appliance, plumbing, electrical and furniture troubleshooting and repairs.
Surveillance/ security action plan assistance
Guest emergency in-person support (ex: delivering amenity items, assisting with lock-outs, investigating noise complaints)
Packages: on-site receiving & occasional sending
Storage & Maintenance inventory help
Compensation:
Paid hourly with a minimum of 5 hours per week. Hourly rate will be $25/hr (negotiable based on your experience). Housing could be available if you’re interested in work-trade compensation. Estimated hours per week range from 5 to 20 based on season and maintenance needs.
