We are looking for a reliable, hard working CNC Machine Operator NOW at our Arcata plant (plan to schedule interviews the week of 4/8/19). This position sets up and operates a computer-operated cutting machine to cut rolls of material such as 40 oz urethane and other weights of coated materials into pattern pieces. Appropriately marks cut pieces to aid in assembly operations. Removes cut and marked pieces from table, bundles them and arranges them on material-handling carts. Responsible for quality of material in all cut pieces, performing quality checks of fabric including adhesion, weight, gauge and cosmetics.

Ideal candidate has:

- high school diploma or GED

- 1-2 years of experience with operating a CNC machine, including working with the program, PatternSmith, that drives the machine.

- ability to commit to constantly coming to a job on time with a positive attitude - ready to contribute to the overall culture and quality of our fast-paced company.

- a tendancy to be detail-oriented and focused. This skills is necessary to accurately record material used by vendor, style, color, lot number, roll number and yardage and to detect malfunctions such as jamming, wrinkling, or tearing of material timely.

- a proficiency for computers. Must be able to read computer files both in Excel and PatternSmith, Plotter-Pilot.

- a level of comfort reading work orders, bill of materials, specifications and looking at engineering shop drawings.

- a strong commitment to safety

- flexibility - to take on a variety of tasks as needed.

Wing is a drug-free, friendly, yet busy workplace. The plant environment can be noisy and dusty, with varying temperatures. We require our staff to do physical work (reaching, standing, and occasionally lifting). Must be able to use hands (fine and gross motor skills, gripping). Also, capable to take direction yet work independently, learn quickly, and have pride in the products we build. On-time, steady attendance is mandatory. Basic math and ability to become forklift certified are required.

Must have good references from previous employment. Must have reliable transportation. We have bike racks inside the building.
