Seeking a Talented IT/Web Developer & Audio Enthusiast for Radio Paradise

Radio Paradise (RP) is an independent, listener-supported online radio station that delivers a diverse blend of music to its global audience. With a focus on providing high-quality audio content and an engaging user experience, RP has garnered a loyal following over the years. As part of our ongoing efforts to improve and expand our services, we are seeking an experienced IT professional ideally with expertise in web development, coding, and audio production to join our team.
Position: IT/Web Developer & Coder
Responsibilities:
Website Enhancement: Collaborate with the RP team to enhance the functionality and user experience of the Radio Paradise website (www.radioparadise.com). This involves implementing new features, optimizing existing code, and ensuring compatibility across various platforms and devices.
System Administration: Maintain and monitor RP's Mac and Linux-based networking infrastructure and system administration tasks. Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of servers and networking components.
Performance Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations to improve the speed and responsiveness of the RP website. Conduct regular testing and performance analysis to ensure optimal user experience, especially during peak usage periods.
Security and Compliance: Implement best practices for web security and data privacy to protect RP's systems and user data. Stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations related to cybersecurity and compliance.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, content creators, and other developers, to coordinate project tasks and ensure timely delivery of updates and enhancements. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide progress updates, and address any issues or concerns.
Requirements:
Extensive experience with PHP, JavaScript, and SQL for web development and database management.
Proficiency in Mac and Linux networking and system administration.
Strong understanding of web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
Familiarity with audio encoding, streaming protocols, and audio production tools is a major plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
