Cannabis Extraction Technician (Seasonal/ Temporary)

Job Purpose:

- Extraction technicians are responsible for creating high quality unrefined oleoresin ‘crude’. Technicians will train on and perform extraction operations using the CUP30 Ethanol Extraction System (and accompanying equipment), solvent recovery operations using the Bizzy-Bee Falling Film Evaporator, micro-extractions using our Micro-extraction system, Homogenization operations using the Homogenization reactor and process, and other duties as may be assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Operates highly sophisticated extraction equipment and all associated support equipment.

- Processes crude oleoresin extracts and THC concentrates.

- Cleans and maintains extraction and post-processing equipment.

- Maintains strict inventory records of all plants, chemicals and equipment used in the laboratory.

- Operates, maintains, adjusts and performs basic repairs to laboratory equipment such as vacuum pumps, diaphragm pumps, piston-type pumps, various small valves, balances, bench scales, falling film evaporators, recirculating heaters and chillers, and various other laboratory equipment.

- Adheres to quality control procedures.

- Disposes of waste according to state and local municipality guidelines.

- Keeps laboratory, store rooms and working areas immaculately clean.

- Cleans and sanitizes laboratory glassware.

- Performs clerical work related to laboratory activities and maintenance.

- Complies with local and state guidelines requiring chain of custody of controlled substances.

- Maintains inventory records of supplies, materials, and equipment.

- Prepares requisitions as needed.

- Ensures consistency and efficacy of product through quality control testing and procedures.

- Organizes and stores supplies and equipment.

- Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

- Must be over the age of 21 to work in a cannabis facility.

- Must have high school diploma (or equivalent).

- Must have dependable transportation.

- Extraction experience preferred.

- Ability to perform labor intensive, repetitive tasks.

- Effective time-management skills and ability to multi-task.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, challenging environment.

- Ability to work cooperatively with team members at all levels.

- Establishes clear expectations for self and others to achieve stated goals and objectives.

- Gives regular feedback to ensure system and record accuracy.

- Demonstrates receptive attitude to constructive feedback.

- Demonstrates consistent logic, rationality, and objectivity in decision-making.

Working Environment:

- Operations: This position will work in an indoor manufacturing facility with uncontrolled temperatures; may be exposed to bright lighting, loud equipment, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, extremely hot and cold surfaces, hazardous/flammable liquids and vapors, and working in close proximity with other operators and managers.

- This job operates in a professional production laboratory environment and routinely uses standard industrial laboratory equipment.

- This job routinely uses office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers, filing folders and binders, and may work in proximity with other operators and managers.

- Must be able to travel to Eureka facility.

Job Requirements:

- Work revolves around objectives, projects and priorities, not hours; must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.

- Must be able to stand, walk, lift, sit, and bend for a majority of their work schedule.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

- Must be able to climb a ladder.

- Ability to use computer and calculator.

- Must have own transportation.

- Must be 21 years of age or older.

- Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.

- Selected candidate will be required to complete a post offer, pre-employment background check with the local law enforcement or Eureka Police Department.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
