Qualifications:
- Two or more years of experience teaching swim of all ages and all levels
- Two or more years of experience working with children
- Ability to work with all spectrum bodied beings, including non-verbal children
- Ability to work with Infants
- Ability to work with Spanish speaking swimmers and their guardians
- Ability to work in Tandem/Groups
- Thorough knowledge and application of teaching swimming and water safety skills
- Strong problem solving and organization skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults
- Ability to work flexible shifts
- Ability to use a computer and/or smartphone to access your work schedule, clock-in/clock-out, follow through checklists, and reply in a timely manner to work related emails and/or messages.
- Maintain current CPR/AED Certification – adult/infant/child
Reports to: Pool Programs Coordinator
Position Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt (schedule may include weekends, evenings, and Holidays)
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain a safe, effective, nurturing, and engaging environment
- Implements appropriate classes for the swimming level being taught
- Responsible for the proper instruction of all swim lessons
- Be prepared, on time, and ready to work
- Be a customer service representative in the pool area
- Communicate regularly with participants and their parents, as appropriate, to ensure they are aware of progress.
- Establishes positive public relations with parents/guardians of class students helping them recognize and understand swimming developments and achievements
- Complete Activity Report every shift.
- Enforce pool safety standards and facility operational rules for all individuals using the facilities.
- Present a polished appearance and professional attitude at all times, and maintain a high standard of customer service.
- When applicable, assist new Swim Instructors go through the Swim Program curriculum for proper classification and training
- Communicate diligently and effectively with students, parents, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
