Verbo Interpreting Services is looking for interpreters as independent contractors in a variety of languages to interpret for medical interviews at different locations throughout southern California, but now especially in EL CENTRO, CA and surrounding areas. We are mostly involved in the medical interpretation, but we are not limited to medical only.
This is a great opportunity, as you can manage your schedule. Give us your availability and we will work around your schedule. Generally, we will notify you 1 to 7 days in advance or more. The hours in which the assignments happen can vary but usually are between 8 am to 5 pm during the week and weekends.
Languages being sought:
-Spanish
-American Sign Language
Or any other common language in the area.
Requirements include:
⢠Full fluency in English and the second language/s you speak.
⢠Basic medical terminology, i.e. body parts, diseases, symptoms
⢠Previous experience interpreting (minimum of one-year), must be verifiable.
⢠Interpretations are in-person, must have own vehicle (licensed and insured).
⢠Some experience in interpreting is required. We will assist in basic training when needed.
⢠High School diploma or GED.
Responsibilities include:
⢠Be on time to any/all assignments
⢠Properly attired, (casual to formal)
⢠Interpret oral conversations between English and target language.
⢠Follow assignment instructions and training guides.
⢠Exhibit professional behavior in every assignment.
⢠Report attendance after every assignment (company will determine acceptable methods, i.e. email, webform, etc).
