This entry-level working position is uniquely positioned for an individual wanting a career in the equine industry. The Equine Care and Enrichment Lead is responsible for the daily care (e.g., first aid, medicating, feeding), grooming, and enrichment of equine residents as well as actively participating in a variety of horse care and barn chores. Candidates should be well-versed in the daily care, grooming and handling of horses and hungry to further his or her skill set.

Strong intermediate horse handling skills are required. This is a boots-on-the-ground position which requires the candidate to be physically fit, possess excellent time management skills, and self-imposed personal standards of excellence. Candidates must be of impeccable character, possess solid equine handling experience, and have a hunger to constantly develop themselves. The program requires all team members to be respectful, positive, and committed to a healthy and collaborative work environment. We are a 100% drug-free work environment free from cursing, gossip or any other unproductive behavior. Candidates must be patient and possess a mindset of kindness and compassion.

Superior work ethic is required. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, active and outdoor work setting. Candidate is required to have organizational skills, good communication skills, and be both timely and dependable. An ideal candidate will live within a 30 minute commute (Location: Chino Hills, CA) and have reliable transportation. The position offers opportunity for growth and development. Duties include:

- Role modeling culture, values, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)

- Coaching team members on safety and standards

- Assessing the wellness and happiness of equines during daily rounds

- Providing general first aid

- Administering oral medication

- Preparing and delivering specialized feed buckets

- Coordinating and participating in turnout rotations

- Grooming and practicing excellent hoof care

- Participating in daily chores such as inside/outside waterers and barn cleanliness

- Attending to the needs of horses requiring a range of personalized care
