Job Description:
As a cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to the menu and recipes provided by the establishment. Your duties will include:
Preparing ingredients for cooking, such as chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and measuring ingredients.
Cooking food items in various kitchen equipment, including stoves, ovens, grills, and fryers.
Following recipes accurately to maintain consistency in food quality and presentation.
Monitoring food cooking times and temperatures to ensure food safety standards are met.
Operating kitchen equipment safely and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.
Collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food orders.
Assisting with inventory management and stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness of ingredients.
Adhering to food safety regulations and guidelines at all times.
Maintaining a clean and organized work station throughout the shift.
Assisting with other duties in the kitchen as assigned by the head chef or kitchen manager.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or food service establishment.
Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and adherence to food safety standards.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
