JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: MEAT CLERK APPLY IN PERSON
JOB SUMMARY:
Assisting customers with purchases in the meat department, offering preparation and serving suggestions, maintaining stock level in display cases, and processing of meat department products, clean-up and safety and sanitation of equipment and department.
FUNDAMENTAL JOB TASKS:
Assist the customer with purchases of products and with other services such as slicing, grinding, repackaging, serving suggestions, cooking procedures, etc.
Responsible for wrapping, scaling, trimming, pricing and price changes of all meat department products according to company procedures and policies including customer protection laws and applicable weights and measures regulations
Maintains the proper supply of products in the cases and packaged deli through proper rotation and display of product per company standards and schematics
Responsible for cleanup of wrapping, scaling, and production equipment according to proper cleaning and sanitation procedures
Responsible for maintaining acceptable levels of product preparation, storage and identification knowledge
Orders products and supplies, inventories products and supplies as assigned
Other related duties as required
This position requires bending, twisting, stooping and lifting up to 100-lbs., as well as the ability to work continually on your feet in a wet, cold environment.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Ability to read equipment manuals, shelf tags and prices, and labels.
Must possess efficient hand-eye coordination and be able to perform basic math calculations.
Ability to use good judgment in dealing with customers and co-workers.
Must maintain a sense of integrity.
