Job Description:
SoCal Optometry is looking for a motivated and patient-focused Optometry Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in the healthcare field and eager to learn. Experience is preferred, but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate. Spanish-speaking skills are preferred, but not required.
As an Optometry Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring patients have a smooth and positive experience during their eye care visits. You will assist the optometrist in performing diagnostic testing, prepare patients for exams, and support the overall flow of the office.
Responsibilities:
Greet and prepare patients for exams in a professional and friendly manner
Collect medical and vision histories and input information into the electronic health record
Perform preliminary tests such as visual acuity, auto-refraction, tonometry, and retinal imaging
Assist with contact lens training and patient education as needed
Clean and maintain exam rooms and equipment
Support front office duties as needed, including scheduling and phone calls
Provide excellent customer service and contribute to a welcoming office environment
Qualifications:
Experience in optometry, ophthalmology, or healthcare is preferred but not required (training provided)
Spanish-speaking ability preferred, but not required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Professional demeanor and a genuine interest in patient care
Basic computer skills required
