Southern California fabricator in Corona, CA is growing and looking for a reliable Driver / General Laborer with exceptional driving record. A company vehicle will be used.
Job Overview:
Primary responsibility will be driving making deliveries and picking up materials. When not driving the candidate will be used as a general laborer helping with miscellaneous tasks either in the fabrication shop or assisting installation field crews. The Candidate must follow the company’s safety policies and procedures. Work schedule and hours will vary depending on the jobsite requirements and jobsite location. The standard work schedule will be Monday through Friday. Overtime and some weekend work may be required from time to time on an as needed basis. Work hours need to be flexible. Typical start time at 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. There are instances the candidate may be required to come in as early as 4:00 am to make deliveries to Los Angeles/Ventura County or as far down as San Diego County.
What we're looking for:
EDUCATION: High School Degree or equivalent.
LICENSING: Valid Driver’s License with EXCELLENT driving record.
EXPERIENCE: 3+ years’ experience driving and use of typical power tools.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Candidates must be able to…
-Follow all California traffic laws.
-Safely drive a standard pickup while towing a 16 to 20 foot trailer. Must know how to properly back up a trailer and maneuver in tight spaces.
-Safely drive large rented equipment like a 26’ Penske Stake/Flat Bed truck.
-Safely use power and hand tools associated with construction, metal/glass fabrication and installation including but not limited to measuring tapes, drills, hammers, grinders, chop saws, screw guns, impact guns, nail guns and lifting tools.
- Be on-time and reliable.
-Be flexible; ready to drive, work in the fab shop, or job site as needed.
-Properly tied down loads in a safe manner.
-Have good communication.
-Assist in the fabrication shop or jobsite as directed.
-Be willing to do miscellaneous work including but not limited to: maintain and clean work fleet vehicles, clean and sweep the yard-fab shop-jobsite as needed, conduct inventories, assist in offloading materials by hand or forklift (forklift training/certification will be provided), build or breakdown pallets.
-Safely use equipment associated with construction and metal panel installation including but not limited to forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other high reach equipment.
-Professionally communicate both written and verbally, daily, throughout all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
-Perform the physical demands of the job including safely operating equipment and properly setting up scaffolding.
-Physical ability to safely lift and maneuver heavy weighted objects including materials, tools and equipment.
-Ability to safely work at heights as well as access heights from ladder, scaffolding, and or mechanical lift.
-Work overtime and/or weekends if necessary.
-Other duties as assigned.
-Work as a team and communicate well with others.
Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
The selected Candidate may also be required to successfully pass a post-offer, pre-employment criminal background check and drug test. The Candidate must possess a valid California Driver’s License. Must also carry and show proof of car insurance and have a driving record that is acceptable to be added to our Auto Insurance policy.
Pay is $25.00 an hour based on specific experience. Additional benefits are available including company shared medical plan, dental, vision and 401k along with paid sick time.
