LOOKING FOR A PRODUCTION PLANNER / PURCHASING AGENT

We are a 36-year-old manufacturer of round carbide cutting tools located in Riverside, CA. We are in need of a Full Time Manufacturing Production Planner/ Purchasing Agent for our company. The Production Planner / Purchasing Agent is responsible for ensuring our CNC & Grinding machines are adequately stocked with work orders and raw material for our machinist to work at their full potential, inventory procurement and management of our raw materials, manufacturing supplies and oversees stock.

Duties and responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Prioritizes incoming orders based on due dates and customer/organizational priorities. Ensures tools are made in a timely manner.

Works with Sales Management to ensure priority of work and meet established deadlines.

Works with Engineering staff to determine what raw materials are needed for manufacturing.

Manage and create all material work orders; works with engineering on drawings for each tool to be created.

Pulls daily Back Order Reports and Raw Material Reports to insure timely delivery of finished tools.

Works with Manufacturing Plan Manager in organization of daily work schedule of parts to be produced.

Gather quotes from vendors based on material needs from manufacturing.

Maintain inventory of raw materials to include maintaining and organizing the area in

which they are stored.

Accurately manage quotes and prepare comparative analysis

Negotiate purchase order terms and conditions

Manage and create all material purchase orders in our ERP system (Sage).

Timely and accurate processing of Contracts, Service Agreements, Change Orders, and Purchase orders.

Develop specific commodity objectives with an emphasis on cost reduction, quality

improvement, technology development, on time delivery, inventory reduction, lead-time reduction and customer focus.

Other tasks assigned by management and deemed necessary to the operation of the position and/or organization.

Qualifications

A minimum of 3 to 5 years work experience in a Manufacturing Environment preferred but not required.

MUST have strong computer skills to include Excel. MUST BE ORGANIZED.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail.

Should be creative in their approach to work recommending improvement for work flow.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
