I am the owner of an Environmental Consulting business based in the Central Coast of California, but I travel often for project sites and I would like to hire a correspondent that is local to the Riverside/Inland Empire area. The work would be remote except for one trip to Moreno Valley to collect samples of drinking water sometime in or around February-March 2025. The work done from home / remote is expected to include approximately 4 hours per month.
It's not a lot of work, but it's a great "foot in the door" for University / College students or recent graduates, or water operators or other qualified individuals looking for a side gig or some extra income.
At least ONE of the four below are required qualifications (or, if in progress, must be completed by February 2025).
(1) Have the equivalent of one year of experience in water sampling.
(provide timeframes, description of water samples collected or tested, and (preferably) have the description be accompanied by a name and signature of a current or past supervisor or professor if it was done as an academic program.
OR
(2) Have a Baccalaureate or higher degree in engineering or science from an accredited
institution of higher education (if you are graduating by June 2025, I may be able to offer some flexibility).
OR
(3) Have received an approved water sampling training recognized by the State of California (approval determined on a case-by-case basis). Please ask for pre-approval before attending any trainings.
OR
(4) Hold a license as a Certified Treatment or Water Distribution Operator by the State of California

3) Supporting documentation of the above qualifications
4) A concise description of work history and / or educational achievements related to any of the following (not all are required):

Field or clinical collection of water, soil, environmental swabs, medical, or other environmental samples (describe).
Research or training related to the fields of Civil Engineering, Water Treatment Operations, Environmental Science, Environmental Health, Earth Sciences, or Chemistry.
5) General information about yourself or other qualifications that you believe should be considered.
6) A few professional or academic references
7) Any reasonable accommodations that you may require
All genders are welcome to apply (previous job postings for those I hire have had something like 90% applicants of a certain gender and and other applications have had something like 90% of another gender) so I just want to ensure that all feel welcome to apply.
