Job Title: Advanced Facility Technician
Location: Fontana, CA
Pay Rate: $25-$28/hr (depending on experience)
Hours: Typically 8am-5pm, with some project-related shifts from 6am-3pm or 7am-4pm.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Advanced Facility Technician to assist with the maintenance and repair of our building, labs, and warehouse. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in facility maintenance, construction, and equipment management. The ideal candidate will be proactive, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance:
- Assist in performing preventative maintenance and repairs for building systems (lighting, plumbing, HVAC, roof repairs, etc.)
- Perform maintenance on furniture, and assist with furniture relocation and setup
- Contribute to 5S (workplace organization) and safety improvements as needed
- Carry out routine equipment and hand tool maintenance
- Assist in warehouse maintenance and waste disposal
- Restock and requisition supplies as needed
Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain equipment and tools such as forklifts, compressors, saws, etc.
- Assist in organizing and managing supplies and tools
- Ensure that supplies are stocked and requisitioned in a timely manner
Project Support:
- Provide support for lab, project teams, and facilities as needed
- Assist with R&D facility projects, product installations, and material handling
- Participate in material staging, cutting, painting, and pallet stacking
- Operate forklift when necessary
Safety Responsibilities:
- Adhere to safety protocols by using personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper equipment
- Apply 5S methodology to ensure organized and safe workspaces in facilities, warehouses, labs, and offices
- Submit weekly safety reports and maintain forklift certification
- Complete mandatory OSHA safety training on a monthly basis
- Promote a strong safety culture by participating in safety initiatives and maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Desired Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial or residential facility maintenance or building construction
- Proficiency in the use of construction hand tools and general construction skills
- Forklift experience (minimum 1 year)
