We're currently looking to hire two full time automotive technicians 45 hours a week. Minimum 5-10 years experience. Pay depending on experience. Must have tools. Not looking to train.
An automotive technician / mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing issues, repairing, and performing routine maintenance on vehicles, utilizing diagnostic equipment to identify problems with a car's engine, transmission, electrical systems, brakes, steering, suspension, and other components, and then replacing worn or damaged parts to ensure proper vehicle functionality; they may also explain repair details to customers and follow manufacturer standards for repairs and maintenance.
Key responsibilities:
Vehicle Inspection:
Thoroughly inspect vehicles to identify potential problems with engine, brakes, tires, fluids, lights, and other systems.
Diagnostic Testing:
Use computerized diagnostic tools to pinpoint issues within a vehicle's electrical system, engine performance, and other components.
Repair and Maintenance:
Perform repairs including replacing worn parts like brake pads, filters, spark plugs, batteries, and other components as needed.
Fluid Checks and Changes:
Check and replenish fluids such as engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, and power steering fluid.
Component Replacement:
Remove and install new parts like belts, hoses, sensors, and suspension components.
Test Driving:
Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to ensure issues are resolved.
Customer Communication:
Explain repair needs and costs to customers in a clear and understandable manner.
Parts Ordering:
Order necessary parts for repairs based on diagnosis.
Maintenance Records:
Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on each vehicle.
Required Skills:
Technical Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of automotive systems including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and steering.
Diagnostic Skills:
Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle problems.
