Solar Installer Job Summary

RFK is looking for a Solar Installer to join our Installation team, reporting to the Project Manager. The Solar Installer will work with the Installation crew to ensure the correct materials and products are ready for the install job, install solar systems purchased by clients, pay attention to detail to ensure the system is installed accurately according to RFK quality standards, always work in a safe manner following all safety protocols, and care for work equipment and tools.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Install photovoltaic (PV) systems in accordance with codes and standards using drawings, schematics and instructions.
Identify electrical, environmental and safety hazards associated with the installations and identify methods and locations for laying out, orienting, and mounting modules or arrays to ensure efficient installation, electrical configuration, or system maintenance.
Assist with site preparation and clean up, complete installation reports and paperwork.
Maintain a clean and organized work site, including work truck, tools and equipment.
Maintain inventory of equipment for each installation.
Complete full inventory for each installation job.
Pre-assemble job components in the warehouse by partnering with the Warehouse team.
Attend training sessions on new products, installation methodology and safety as directed.
Use designated tools, systems, resources, and applications to manage various aspects of the job.
Represent RFK and our brand with professionalism, integrity, and passion.
Strictly follows quality, safety and workplace behavior standards.
Reports accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
Complete other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements:
Job Qualifications:
Typically requires a High School diploma or equivalent, with 2-5 years of experience in all aspects of PV installation
Experience with the safe use of manual and power tools, consistently following all safety rules and requirements at all times
Strong interest in renewable energy and supporting our company’s high-quality standards
Conduit bending skills
Pass a pre-employment drug screen
Clean driving record and a valid state driver's license, reliable transportation
Attention to detail of work quality standards, safety procedures, and work environment
Comfort working at heights and on rooftops with proper safety apparatus
Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively in a team environment
OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certificate
Authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to:
Work in extreme environments, e.g. hot sun, crawl spaces, ladders, roofs, etc.
Climb ladders, stairs, work on rooftops and work on feet for extended periods of time
Lift or carry up to 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
Physically access all areas of the office and work environment with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external clients and contacts.
Ability for prolonged periods of time to sit, walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
Work indoors and outdoors, be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, heat, cold, noise, dust, fragrance aromas.

Discretionary bonus opportunities, based on performance
Schedule:
Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week, weekends as needed based on business demands, in the field
