WORKING HOURS FROM 1PM TO 10PM M-F
Location Fontana CA
Basic Position Requirements:
- Minimum 1-2 years of transportation experience can be in dispatch or safety
- Oral and written communication skills
- Rate negotiation and closing skills
- Basic computer proficiency ie. excel, load boards, email
- Ability to work full time, second shift hours
- Being on time, prompt and prepared on a daily basis
Primary Duties:
- Assume responsibility for load planning, optimization, routing and scheduling of all modes
- Maintain working relationships with customers and co-workers to facilitate the functions of transportation
- Review daily load plan exceptions and re-plan as necessary
- Staying up to date on freight trends
- Knowing backhaul/ headhaul markets and the relevant pricing
- Soliciting new shippers to gain direct freight
- Checking broker credit worthiness to ensure a prompt payment history
- Completing new customer set up packets
- Pre-planning your assigned drivers to maximize profit
- Other duties as required and assigned
