Your 24/7 Personal Dispatcher will:
Communicate with the truck driver and customer via phone or email for dispatching
Relay work orders, route rescheduling and assisting the driver with inquiries
Keep track of driver’s location and a number of hours driven to make sure he/she leaves and arrives on time for scheduled freight appointments
Dispatch drivers on contracted load by relaying pickup and delivery information as well as routing (if needed)
Minimizing empty miles, maximizing revenue-generating miles
Maintain professional relationships with customers via phone and email
Report detention and layover immediately
Stay up to date with freight trends
Know backhaul/ head haul markets and the relevant pricing
Soliciting new shippers to gain direct freight
Check Broker creditworthiness to ensure a prompt payment history
Completing new customer contracts
Pre-planning your assigned drivers
Computer proficient (Outlook, Word, Excel and Load Boards)
GREAT organizational skills
OUTSTANDING negotiation skills
Self-motivated
