Medical Scheduler

Description We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented and experienced Medical Scheduler located in Long Beach to manage our medical facility's scheduling system effectively. The incumbent will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments, surgeries, medical examinations, and ensure smooth and efficient functioning of our healthcare services.Responsibilities:

Schedule patient appointments for consultations, examinations, procedures, medical treatments and follow-up visits.

Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure all schedules align well.

Manage appointment cancellations and rescheduling as necessary.

Facilitate in scheduling surgeries by coordinating patient's pre-operative tests and clearance.

Maintain and update patient records in the scheduling system.

Handle scheduling conflicts and find suitable solutions without compromising patient’s needs.

Prioritize patient's health condition in scheduling appointments.

Answer incoming calls, make outbound calls, respond to inquiries, and provide needed information.

Liaise with insurance companies to verify patient's coverage and confirm eligibility for specific procedures or treatment.

Ensure compliance with healthcare laws and medical ethics.

Requirements

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED. A degree in healthcare administration or related field will be an advantage.

Proven experience as a Medical Scheduler or a similar role in a healthcare setting.

Excellent working knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis.

Strong understanding of healthcare procedures and regulations.

Experience with healthcare software, including patient management systems and databases.

Outstanding organizational skills and detail-oriented approach.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Problem-solving skills and ability to handle stressful situations.

Familiarity with insurance policies and medical billing procedures will be preferred.
