Regional waste management company located in the SGV seeks the following:
Job Summary:
Applies the principles of accounting within an assigned area of accounting. Compiles financial information, performs cost and source tracing analysis.
Responsibilities:
Compiles financial information and assists in the preparation of reports.
Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Keeps abreast of laws and regulations that apply to a particular staff function or field of professional expertise to maintain up-to-date compliance.
Reconciles sub-ledgers to the general ledger and resolves differences.
Provides information to individuals or organizations outside of the company; explains accounting transactions; resolves accounting issues and discrepancies.
Uses various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
Analyze reports to provide ongoing appropriate departmental communication and monthly or daily data reports.
Monitor for timely and accurate completion of select data elements.
Analyze and problem solve issues with current and planned systems as they relate to the integration and management of operations data.
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
Identify problematic areas and conduct research to determine the best course of action to correct the data from various sources such as Kronos, TMW, Soft-Pak or Great Plains
Participates in special projects as assigned by management.
Skills and Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field
Two years related work experience required.
Proficiency in the use of software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and/ or word processing required.
Waste industry experience preferred.
