The Position:
We are seeking a full-time Junior Accountant for our Finance department. This position is primarily responsible for assisting with general accounting functions, A/P, A/R, and GL as they relate to our various funding contracts.
What You’ll Do:
Prepare and maintain all cash receipts, bank deposits (East West Bank & Bank of America), and reconcile with General Ledger monthly.
Generate and submit monthly invoices for non-DMH and small contracts.
Coordinate monthly data entry of consolidated billings and receivables into Sage Intacct.
Collect and prepare manual DMH Flex spending invoices for all provider sites.
Conduct ongoing account analysis and reconciliations for fiscal oversight and control.
Collaborate with Development staff to reconcile monthly donations.
Support general accounting functions including GL, AP, AR, cash receipts, and financial reporting.
Assist in maintaining and tracking non-DMH contract budgets (budget vs. actual).
Provide support for annual audit preparation and 401(k) administration.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am- 5:00 pm, 1-hour meal period
Starting Salary: $43,000 - $53,000
Qualifications
Computer literary including proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, such as Excel (Pivot Tables and V Look Ups), Word, and Access.
Experience with Sage Intact or similar accounting system preferred
Detail-oriented, analytical, demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, resourceful, reliable, able to adhere to deadlines, self-starter and be able to work independently.
Must have a good sense of judgment as pertaining to the position.
Bachelor’s or Associate's Degree in Accounting, Administration or a related field preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required.
