Our long standing Property Management Company is looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our Accounting team at the corporate office near Glendale/dodger’s stadium, Los Angeles area.

Under the direction of the Controller, the Sr. Accountant is responsible for computing and preparing data for journal entries, preparing monthly reconciliation, and reviewing general ledger and for accuracy. Assist in preparation for the internal & external audits.

Essential Duties:

Prepare and post all journal entries for cash deposit & general ledger accounts accurately and timely.

Ensure all capital assets purchased are posted to appropriate general ledger accounts.

Review and analyze general ledger accounts to determine any miscoding and make all necessary reclassification to proper accounts.

Ensure all Balance Sheet accounts are balanced and accurate.

Assist in preparing financial reports for individual property and consolidated financial statements.

Assist in reviewing, researching and reconciling financial statements from 3rd party management companies.

Assist in General Ledger Month-End Close preparation.

Prepare HUD files for the HUD audits

Prepare tax files for tax returns.

Ensure that all inquiries and requests from the owner and Senior Management are handled promptly.

Maintain documentation for compliance to the company policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

College or AA degree or higher is required.

Must efficiently use computer programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook applications.

Must have excellent organizational skills, time management, and multi-tasking skills.

Must have ability to communicate effectively with internal employees, and all levels of management.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, researching, completing assigned projects and other duties as assigned.

Team player and Adaptability. Critical and analytical thinking.

Experience in Yardi Voyager (accounting software) is preferred but not required.

Knowledge of fixed asset depreciation is preferred but not required.

Experience in preparing bank reconciliation and financial analysis skills.

Available to work weekends and on-calls as necessary.

Knowledge of federal fair housing laws and any applicable housing provisions but not required.

Occasional lifting of files and boxes up to 20 lbs.

Job Type: Full Time, exempt

Hours: Monday through Friday, time range from 8am to 6pm

Pay Rate: Depending on experience. Offering Competitive Salary
