Project Manager Role Description

The House of Pontovi is seeking a highly talented and experienced Interior Design Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong leadership background and a proven track record in managing residential and hospitality projects from inception to completion. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple high-profile projects while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

Define project scope, goals, and objectives for each interior design project

Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed timelines, task breakdowns, and resource allocation

Manage multiple design projects end-to-end across various sectors

Lead design documentation throughout all project phases

Monitor project progress, set deadlines, and ensure design execution meets quality standards and client expectations

Budget & Financial Management

Create and manage project budgets from inception through completion

Ensure all projects stay within financial parameters while maintaining design integrity

Scope and plan project milestones to meet external deadlines and budget constraints

Client & Stakeholder Relations

Assist as a point of contact for project coordination with clients, contractors, fabricators, architects, and vendors

Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and expectation management

Present project updates with refined presentation skills

Address client concerns and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle

Documentation & Compliance

Review and submit all project documentation, ensuring design intent and technical accuracy

Ensure basic code compliance is met across all project deliverables

Manage submittals, RFIs, and ASI/IDSK review and response

Coordinate with consultants and technical specialists as needed

Ensure timely delivery of all project deliverables

Team Leadership & Collaboration

Communicate clearly, openly, and professionally with all team members

Collaborate effectively with FF&E and interiors teams across all project phases

Maintain a positive, supportive atmosphere and foster strong working relationships

Identify and support professional growth opportunities for team members

Problem-Solving & Quality Control

Proactively identify and address obstacles or challenges that arise during projects

Implement solutions to avoid delays or costly changes

Give final approval on designs, space plans, and material selections

Ensure all work meets the firm's elevated standards and design excellence

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field

Proven track record of successfully managing multiple interior design projects from concept to completion

years of experience in interior design project management

Substantial experience with Construction Administration (CA) processes

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of project management methodologies

Proficient in Google Drive, InDesign or Programma, and Microsoft Office

[Additional software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Studio Designer, etc.]

Understanding of construction documents, specifications, and building codes
