Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Cashier to join our team at the Los Angeles
Wholesale Produce Market. The ideal candidate will manage transactions efficiently, maintain
accurate records, and provide excellent service to our clients, including vendors, suppliers, and
customers in a fast-paced wholesale produce environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including cash, credit,
and other payment methods.
Prepare invoices and receipts for wholesale orders.
Handle large cash volumes and ensure proper security procedures.
Maintain an organized and clean workspace, including cash registers and
surrounding areas.
Assist customers with inquiries about pricing, product availability, and order
pickups.
Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure orders are accurate and ready for
dispatch.
Balance the cash register and reconcile discrepancies at the end of each shift.
Adhere to company policies and procedures, including compliance with food
safety regulations.
Assist with basic administrative tasks, such as data entry and filing as needed.
Qualifications:
Previous cashier or customer service experience, preferably in a wholesale or
produce-related environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle high-pressure situations.
Excellent math skills and the ability to manage cash accurately.
Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and invoicing software.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse
clients.
Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced, early-morning
