Performing Arts Studio West (PASW), a state funding Creative Arts Program is seeking a part-time (25 hours per week) instructor to choreograph original productions and teach dance & movement to adults with developmental & intellectual disabilities. PASW’s team of entertainment industry professionals has been working with this talented population since 1998 providing training and job placement in film, television, commercials, music videos, as well as in original PASW produced content. The position opens up January 6, 2025.
The ideal candidate must be a team player, compassionate, and hardworking with performance and production experience. A musical theater, acting, and singing background is preferred. Experience working with special needs population is a plus. A Bachelor of Arts Degree is also preferred.
D.O.J. fingerprint clearance will be required before hire.
Duties
Curriculum development & lesson planning
Teaching in-studio 5 days per week
One online Zoom class per week (from studio)
Assisting with PASW in-house productions in the area choreography, costuming, makeup & hair
Writing monthly client progress notes to be submitted to the Director of Support Services
Attending weekly staff meetings (Tuesdays)
Create one Holiday themed dance production per year
Schedule
Monday – Friday 9:00am to 2:00pm
Salary: $24/hour
