Job description:

Our well-established developmental preschool in Santa Monica, serving children ages 1.9-5, is seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our team as a Toddler Teacher.

Important - Please Read Before Applying: We strongly encourage you to apply only if you meet ALL listed requirements and can reliably commute to our Santa Monica location (1227 Montana Ave.) each day by 8:30 AM. Given current traffic conditions in the LA area, we recommend considering your commute time carefully to ensure a punctual, stress-free arrival - essential for maintaining the calm, nurturing environment our young students need.

What You'll Do:

Work with a team to implement age-appropriate activities that support toddlers' growth and development

Communicate effectively and respectfully with children at their individual developmental levels

Actively participate in school events and foster positive relationships with parents

Maintain clean and organized classroom spaces

Support toddlers through daily routines including snacks and transitions

Schedule: Part-time, Monday - Friday, 12:30 am - 3:30 pm (10 months per year, optional summer program)

What You'll Bring:

A genuine dedication to working with young children, particularly toddlers, and a commitment to your colleagues

Demonstrated passion for early childhood education through relevant experience, volunteer work, coursework, or other meaningful engagement with young children

AA degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field

Currently working toward completion of 24 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units/credits, with Child Development units completed or in progress

An understanding of toddler development principles and play-based learning

Experience or strong interest in working with children ages 1.9-2.9 years

Patience, imagination, a sense of humor, and creativity

Successful completion of a TB test, health screening, and fingerprint/background check
