Little Acorns Grow is accepting applications for a Summer Camp Counselor to work in our elementary class (5-9 years old) in the summer. You will join a warm and friendly team of passionate educators who truly care for one another and strive to meet the highest standards of care and education. Little Acorns Grow is a private school and has a nurturing and extensive program. We use a blend of educational philosophies to create a fun, safe and encouraging learning environment.
Typical duties of a Camp Counselor might include:
Develop, prepare, and teach lessons based on the predetermined theme of the camp weeks assigned
Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times
Manage conflict and behavioral issues among campers using positive reinforcement
Leading activities such as crafts and art, demonstrating various techniques and encouraging children to come up with ideas
Maintain a classroom climate that nurtures and supports a learning environment.
Communicating with parents, providing updates where required, and answering questions about the camp
Checking on children with medical needs to ensure they have taken any required medication
Administer First Aid to campers as needed
Providing guidance, motivation, and support to all camp visitors
Qualifications:
Twelve (12) Units in Early Childhood Education
CPR and First Aid certification
Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related field
Possess a teamwork mindset, strong communication skills, organization skills and problem-solving ability
Ability to build rapport with children, families and peers
Job Type: Full Time (8:30am-5:30pm)
