Assistant Staff Engineer – Signal Hill, CA

Responsibilities
As a staff engineer, you will assist with managing remediation projects at refineries and other petroleum or industrial sites under regulatory orders. Your work will involve assessing and optimizing remediation systems; developing engineering estimates; performing environmental remediation system operation and maintenance (including environmental sampling and field data collection); overseeing hydrocarbon recovery; evaluating groundwater and system sampling data developing reports; and supporting technical/business development/marketing needs. Other job responsibilities will include assisting with project budgeting and general project and client management. The position requires work outdoors at petroleum refineries and general/industrial construction sites and requires up to 25% travel to various project locations.
Position Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in engineering (environmental, civil, chemical or mechanical)
0-4 years of relevant work experience
Competitive academic GPA
Problem-solving excellence, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic
Fluency in Microsoft Office programs
Working toward, or are interested in pursuing, a California Professional Engineer registration
Exceptional written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team members
Good employment or academic history with a commitment to safe work practices
Initiative and motivation with an emphasis on completing high-quality project deliverables on schedule
Reliable, team-oriented work habits
Ability to travel to client sites and other Trihydro offices
A clean driving record
Ability to work independently
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card

This position will be based in our Signal Hill, California office and will also include work to support other Trihydro offices

The salary information shown below is a general guideline ONLY. Salaries are based on candidates' experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $65,000 – $75,000
