Design Assistant
Position Overview:
Benner Reibel Landscape Architecture (BRLA) is seeking a talented self-starter for a Design Assistant position in their LA office. Benner Reibel Landscape Architecture is a boutique landscape architecture studio focused on residential design with offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco. BRLA’s designs combine classic design principles and modern California aesthetics to create spaces for true indoor/outdoor living. BRLA manages all phases of their landscape projects from concept design to construction documentation and construction administration. BRLA has projects in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara County, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Their work has been published in Architectural Digest, Veranda, Luxe, The Wall Street Journal, and California Homes, among others. Skill Requirements:
Work directly under owner Patricia Benner and Project Managers to support in producing schematic design presentations, design development 2D and 3D graphics, AutoCAD drafting of layout plans and details, construction documentation, and material palette research.
An understanding of the basic principles of landscape architecture, including site design, grading and drainage, California plant material, and construction drawings.
Proficient in AutoCAD. Experience with LandFX for planting and hardscape plans desired
Strong graphic skills and 3D modeling abilities desired
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, primarily InDesign and Photoshop
Education Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture
Compensation:
Competitive salary commensurate with experience
