REQUIREMENTS:
CAD software:
Aero-Classics uses SolidWorks and applicants must be proficient.
Knowledge of common computer operation:
Use Microsoft word, excel and outlook as well as general Documents such as repair specifications, qualification test plans and component maintenance manuals that commonly needed for heat exchangers in aviation.
Communicate with customers:
To achieve a part that the customer wants whether the communication be through email, phone or in person. Discuss and fix issues during production as well as any parts that maybe out in the field that a customer may have issues with
Understanding of measuring tools:
Be able to check parts and make sure they meet print as well as reverse engineer HX. For example hand tools such as calipers and micrometers as well as leaning to use a CMM (coordinate measuring machine)
Be well organized:
Keep important engineering files organized, in the company server, and available for use by anyone who needs them.
BENNEFICIAL BUT CAN BE TAUGHT
Take a heat exchanger from initial concept to complete production: Phases include but are not limited to: design phase, full model and print making, bill of materials, release of production manufacturing, and troubleshooting production issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate and maintain a heat exchanger test line:
Work on problems that arise with the test line.
Work with outside sources:
Ability to source parts and provide the needed information to the outsourced manufacture so they can produce the parts to our required specification. Examples of outsourced parts can include castings, raw materials, and temperature control valves.
Work with shop employees:
Help with issues that arise during production, work on solutions to improve any production issues or increase productivity
Work with sales department:
Provide information and documents needed for customer questions
General knowledge about heat exchangers:
Ability to calculate heat transfer or general idea, as well as ability to interpret performance test results to create test reports and data charts. Ability to learn Solid Works Flow Simulation and in house flow simulation software.
