We are seeking an Interior Design assistant to work with an esteemed interior designer based in Beverly Hills, CA. We are looking for a design assistant who will focus on creating functionally beautiful spaces for residential clients while using industry knowledge, organization, design experience and creativity.
The ideal candidate will have a flexible schedule, must be located in Los Angeles, CA and have their own car. The right individual should be comfortable working across multiple projects simultaneously and managing multiple responsibilities and will be expected to be involved in installments and sometimes on location for projects.
The candidate must be a team player and want to be a part of a growing team. Excellent communication skills are essential, and the candidate should be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Prior experience with Interior Design Assisting is preferred, but not required.
2 days on location in Beverly Hills
Requirements:
Reliable car and valid driver’s license
Own a computer.
Must live in or near Los Angeles
Working knowledge of CAD, Sketch Up and Studio Designer software.
Ability to create furniture & custom furniture drawings.
Knowledge of finishes, materials and standard specifications and terminology for design-related items.
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently as well as with a team; Ability to delegate tasks to self.
Excellent attention to detail; Strong communication, teamwork, organizational and multitasking skills
Ability to physically work on tasks, such as installation days which includes moving items, cleaning, packing, etc.
Desire to grow with a go-getter mentality with a positive and friendly attitude who’s excited to be a part of a growing team of really cool people!
Responsibilities:
Provide design support and administration during all phases of completion and execution of design concepts and projects
Independently create design concepts for projects based on client’s design vision
Organize and maintain schedules, spec sheets, project/client binders, project samples and material bins
Support the process of general research and sourcing
Perform the functions that support a successful project throughout all phases of design from design development and procurement through final installation including but not limited to: furniture schedules, vendor communication, sourcing, project management, site visits, management of sample library and project installations
Research new products and materials
Prepare for client presentations and creation of presentations by creating mood boards, floorplans, drawings and elevations, assembling surface materials, color palettes and lighting
Gathering detailed information and quotes for preparation of accurate design proposals to clients
Manage tasks on multiple projects at once
