Mechanical Design Engineer- HV Power Electronics (Salary Range: $137,000/yr - $150,200/yr): Responsible for mechanical design of in-house power electronics components for EVs (electric vehicles). Ensure internal design reviews, detail drafting using ASME Y14.5, Tolerance stack-up is completed for all the components. Understand internal component functional requirements and working principle. Work with suppliers on component Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to reduce cost, mass and improve quality and reliability. Participate in power electronics subcomponents Design failure mode and effect analysis (DFMEA). Collaborate with cross-functional team to ensure the Power Electronics components fit in the vehicle and ensure the design has met both DFM and Design for Assembly (DfA) requirements. Work with CAE team on the simulations to optimize the design and co-relate the results with design validation. Work with Electrical team to meet creepage and clearance requirements and other Electrical standards. Work closely with lead and Program team on the timely release of the design to meet the program milestone.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field. 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or related occupation.

SKILLS: Must have:

1. Experience with the mechanical design and release of at least one Automotive or Aerospace component: Body structures, Interior trim, electronic modules or Propulsion hardware.

2. Experience with Catia V6 CAD software including part design, assembly, and drafting.

3. Experience with GD&T (per ASME Y14.5) and Tolerance stack-up analysis.

4. Experience in Casting and Injection molded parts design and release.

5. Experience with DFMEA and DVP&R requirements.
